Samantha H. Lofton, daughter of Pastor LaVerne Roberts-Potts and Samuel Hardwick was born September 4,1978. She was called home to be with the Lord on March 19,2021 at Capital Health-Hopewell Campus in Pennington, NJ.
Samantha was born Trenton, NJ and remained a lifelong resident. She was educated in the Trenton Public School System. She worked in transportation for over 20 years as a bus driver. She was last employed at Christina Seix Academy in Trenton, NJ.
Sam, Sammy, or Man-Man, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was a kind spirit with a heart of gold. She was known for her calm demeanor, big smile and contagious laugh. He greatest joy in life was being a mother to her five beautiful children and spending time with her family and friends. Samantha was a family oriented and loved to host events, gatherings and cookouts. One of the family's fondest memory is being tortured by Samantha to watch episodes after episodes of the ID Channel and Little Women of Atlanta.
Samantha was a member of her family church, Jesus Pentecostal House of Prayer in Trenton, NJ.
Samantha was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Rebecca Hall; maternal grandfather, William Garmon, Jr.; and one brother, Jerome L. Roberts.
She leaves to mourn her passing and rejoice in her homecoming to God: five children, Veja Lofton, Vejuan Lofton, Uriah Hill, Victoria Williams, and Mark Jenkins, Jr.; her loving mother, Pastor LaVerne Roberts- Potts (Richard); her father, Samuel Hardwick (Linda); step-grandmother, Shirley Stovall-Garmon; four sisters, Veronica Roberts (fiancé, James Hughes, jr.), Anita Broach (Ray), Theresa Hardwick, and Shandra Parks; five brothers, Samuel Hardwick (Latasha), Mark Hardwick (Angela), Ronald Hardwick, Arnold Hardwick, and Brian Hardwick; a special niece, Ciara Miller; a special nephew, Cam'Ron Diggs; a special cousin, Tracey Conway and her daughter Latiafah Collins; her significant other, Mark Jenkins; she was also special to an aunt, Ina Stovall and a friend, Barbara Sims-Cole; and a host of other loving relatives and many friends.
Services will be 12pm Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 471 Parkway Ave., Trenton, NJ, 08618. Calling hours will be 10am until the time of services. Interment will be at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, Ewing, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
