Sazaya S. Simmons

Sazaya S. Simmons born in Trenton, New Jersey April 02, 1982, she entered into rest on November 02, 2025 surrounded by family and friends.

Sazaya was a graduate of the Trenton Public School System. She graduated from Trenton Central High School in 2000. Sazaya was employed by the Trenton Board of Education where she worked at the Trenton Central High School as a Senior Secretary. She was formerly employed by the Hibbert Group.

"Zaya" as she was affectionately called, was loved unconditionally by the students at Trenton Central High School, and she was known for her generosity and kindness. The students and staff alike were always welcome to enjoy the personal treats and snacks she kept on hand in the office.

She was a loving mother, daughter, niece, cousin, sister, aunt and friend.

Zaya was a member of New Life Christian Center and confessed Christ at an early age. As a teen, she was an active member of Teens In Christ Ministry for many years. Sazaya loved traveling, shopping, eating out, spending time at the beach and simply enjoying life.

Sazaya was preceded in death by her father, Nilon J. Dawson; grandparents Marie Simmons (Pace) and Daniel Simmons, Sr.; uncle Daniel Simmons, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Sajada S. Simmons, mother Dorthea Simmons, and host of aunts, uncles, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at  New Life Christian Center, 812 Prospect St., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
