The Life of Shakiera

Shakiera Bellamy affectionately known as Kiera, daughter of Elder Keith and Tonya Bellamy was bon on June 29, 1989 in Trenton, New Jersey. She received her angel wings on Friday, April 30, 2021. During her 31 years, Kiera made an impact on so many lives.

She graduated from Pennsbury High School and continued her higher education at Burlington County College and Coppin University.

She accepted Christ at an early age and she wasn’t afraid to share her love for the Lord with others. She attended Samaritan Baptist Church where she was involved in many activities such as, Praise Dance Ministry and sung with the Rainbow Chorale Youth and Young Adult Choir. Kiera loved her family, especially her three children with every fiber of her being. For 5 years, Kiera was a loyal and dependable employee with the State of New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission and was a Shop Steward with CWA Local 1038.

Shakiera bright smile lit up the room and she was loved by so many. She enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing and recording Tik-Tok videos with her children. Shakiera and her brother Tyler had a special kind of relationship.

She was definitely a “Daddy’s Girl”. The bond with her mother was even stronger. She deeply loved and cared for her parents. Her cousins were more like her siblings.

Shakiera was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Bernard and Dorothea Kinsey; grandmother Emma Bellamy; and her godmother Samanthia Paden. She leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Elder Keith and Tonya Bellamy; her three children: Aiden, Melody, and Riley Sykes; her fiancé Jovon Sykes; her brother Tyler Bellamy; her grandfather, Connie Bellamy; her Aunts and Uncles: Cheryl Kinsey, Deborah Morris, Pamela Kinsey, Carlotta Kinsey, Gisele Kinsey; Belinda and Reverend Warren White; Kelvin and Lucretia Bellamy and Ronald Wright. Her cousins: Mark Oliver, Nikki and Terrence Law, Nakia and Jason Smith, Kahri Kinsey, Tamika Kinsey, Shana Kinsey, Sean Bradley, Kelvin,Jr. and Rabiyya Bellamy, Natasha McNeil, Brittney and William Jackson, and Shameer Snell. She always checked in on her younger cousins; Brandon Smith, Siani McCoy, Jordyn Smith, LaKayla Bellamy, Kayla Smith, Tamia Law, Terrence Law, KeyShawn Bellamy, Saniah Kinsey, Myles McCoy, and Nasir Journigan. Her special Godmother Gladys Oliver; her Godsister, Andria Paden; her fiancé family; her special little sister, Davia Townsend; her close friends Vernelle Morris and Kieannie Davis; her NJMVC family, and a host of other family members and friends.

 

Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Samaritan Baptist Church, 541 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd, Trenton, NJ.   Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service.  Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.  Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
