Sharon Lee Miller Bush, affectionately known as Cuda by her family, departed this life, surrounded by her loved ones, to be with the Lord on September 12, 2025.
Sharon was born on November 5,1954 to Louis and Beatrice Miller in Trenton, New Jersey. As a young girl she began her Christian experience at Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Eddie A. Davis, where she was baptized. She continued her spiritual development at El Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. John A. Gains, where she was a member of the Mass Choir. Later in life, she became a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Timothy L. Jordan and served on the Nurses Ministry until her health problems started to present.
Sharon attended and graduated from Trenton Central High School afterwards she enlisted in the United States Military Army Branch from May 1976 until July 1979. She later served briefly in the Army Reserves. She lived for several years in Jacksonville, Florida and Springfield, Georgia. She was a member of the Queen of Sheba Chapter 42.
Sharon maintained employment over time at the United States Postal Service, Rick Bus Company, and Architect Housing Security before retiring due to increasing health issues.
From a youthful age, Sharon was always straight forward when she spoke to people. She was a pleasant person, always with a smile but no nonsense. She would do anything for you if you asked her but, don't take her for granted. The things Sharon loved most were her children and dancing to oldies but goodies. She could swing and bop you off the dance floor if you didn't keep up with her.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Beatrice (neé Fulwood, Leslie) Miller; her stepfather, Herbert Carr; maternal grandparents, Frank and Rose (neé Alford) Fulwood; brothers, Eddie B. Leslie and Louis Miller, Jr; sisters, Louise Miller Patterson and Debra (neé Carr) Douglas, uncles, James Frank Fulwood and Joseph Fulwood; and a special friend, Michael Bush.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughter, Kiara L. McCray-Smith (Deon); a son, Jamaal McCray; stepson, Terrance Wilkins; three sisters: Ann Della Leslie, Mavine Miller Palms, Yvonne Miller Watkins (Marion); two brothers, Lee Otis Leslie and Herbert (Omar) Carr; grandsons, Gavin J. McCray, Audren G. Hemsley "Ace", and Michael Bush 11; two special friends, Edward McCray and Mitchel Page; special church friends, Patricia Swain and Deaconess Daisy Cousins: and a host of other stepchildren, step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday, September 26, 2025 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 735 E. State St., Trenton, NJ 08609. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be 10am Monday, September 29, 2025 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
