With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Steven accepted
his angel's invitation into the kingdom on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 in Trenton, New
Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled
with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.
Steven Doughty was born December 23, 1949 in Hopewell, New Jersey to Mary Doughty and Pete Doughty.
He was educated in the Hopewell Valley School District. He relocated to the Trenton, New Jersey area and lived there for over 50 years after leaving Hopewell.
In his leisure time, Steven enjoyed painting, and he admired and collected jewelry of all sorts. Steven was famous for cutting one side of his hair and leaving the other
side alone to make a fashion statement. He enjoyed making spaghetti and meatballs and watching James Bond and cowboys and indians movies. And anyone who knew Steven, knew he would curse someone out in a heartbeat.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Doughty; his father Pete Doughty; his long time companion Essie Mae Barnes.
Steven's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his sister Patty Doughty; his son Diesel M. Barnes (Concetta); his three stepdaughters LaBella Barnes, Bakr (Mumtaz), Elaine Jenkins [lerome] and Keyochau Barnes (Spence); his grandchildren Diasia Lewis, Iyeesha COVington, Diesel Barnes Jr., Detroit Barnes and Makia Barnes; his nephews Marshall and Kelly Doughty, Bruce and Brandon Kane; very special cousins Dot Kerrington, Diane Kane, Michal and Jason Kerrington and Marlo; a very special stepgranddaughter Embrea Smith (Terrance); a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
What we will miss most about Steve was his fast talking and his smile.
