Susan Johnson

One of God's children answered the Master's call, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at home. Susan Johnson was the loving daughter of the late Roland Johnson Sr. and the late Magnolia Bethea, who loved her dearly. Susan was blessed, not only to be loved by her biological parents, but, also, to beloved, and nurtured, introduced and taught the love of God, by her adoptive parents, James and Doretha Reed.

Susan was born, raised and educated in Trenton, NJ. She was employed by the Board of Education, rising from an unpaid volunteer mother, to one of the highest Administrative Assistant positions there.

Susan, was a lifelong member of the Mt. Zion AME Church.

She enjoyed and had a passion for cooking delicious meals for those she loved and cared about. Filling stomachs was one of her ministries.

She was preceded in death by her biological parents; a sister Debra Johnson.

She leaves to mourn her husband Leotis Moss (GA); her beloved children, Taharka (VA) and Ashanti Johnson.

Susan leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, six sisters, Alfajiri (Loreen) of GA, Magnolia (aka Sissy) (Drew) (NV), Alicia Robinson (IN), Linda Baker (John), Sandra Mitchell, Anna Johnson of NJ; and a much loved special sister, Latricia Robinson; six brothers, Raymond Walker (NY) Roland Johnson, Stanley Johnson, Steve Reed, Gregory Reed (Denise) and Eric Reed of NJ; a wonderful host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 11am Friday, May 30, 2025 at Greater Mt. Zion AME. Church, 34 Pennington Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Fountain Lawn Memorial, Ewing, NJ.
