Sylvia R. Rosser

Sylvia R. Rosser was born on October 28, 1946, in Whitesville, NC to the late Isaac Sr. and Isabelle Shipman. She departed this Life on May 6, 2023, at home. Born in Whitesville, NC, Sylvia attended Central High School in Whitesville, NC and she graduated from Living Stone College in Salisbury, NC. Sylvia was a current resident of Trenton, NJ for many years. She was employed at American Standard as a Payroll Specialist before retiring.

Sylvia was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ where she severed as a Trustee Aide, she was a member of the Hospitality Ministry (Greeter) and Missionary Ministry as well as being apart of the Woman's Emphasis Season(WES). She was also a Volunteer that served snacks to the children who belonged to the Trenton Children's Chorus for over 8 years at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Trenton, NJ. She loved her church family and serving wherever needed.

Sylvia had a love for shopping and going to her favorite boutique, Betty's Pop Up Shop in downtown Trenton and Ewing, NJ. She had a warm, joyful and humorous spirit. She was a joy to be around and she was loved by all who knew her. Sylvia could also be seen dressed to impress every Sunday sitting alongside her two Aunt's, Esther M. Green (deceased) and Shirley A. Foxworth and then after service you could catch the trio at a diner.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by her brother, Isaac Shipman, Jr.; and an aunt, Esther M. Green.

Sylvia's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her devoted fiance, Calvin L. Hill of Trenton, NJ; her sister, Evelyn Burroughs of Lawrenceville, NJ; a niece, Sonya Burroughs of Hackensack, NJ; a nephew, Darryl; a great nephew, Adarian Shipman of Charlotte, NC; her aunt, Shirley A. Foxworth; god-daughter, Sharon "BeBe" Adams; along with a host of cousins, family and friends.

Funeral service will be 10am Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Calhoun St., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
