Taj J. Davis

Taj J. Davis, also known as DJ Venum was born on December 5, 1977 to Judith Davis and Jerry .. Highsmith in Trenton NJ.

Tai received his formal education in the Trenton Public School System, and was a Graduate of Trenton Central High School NJ. Taj began his career at "Another Door Opens Recovery Center" and held various occupations thereafter. Which Led him to his own clothing business line "KIFALME NGUO"

Mr. Davis enjoyed playing music where he became a skillful DJ a skill that he picked up from his Uncle Bill. He loved watching TV shows, sports and going to the Casino & Bingo hall.

Taj had a warm, loving smile, a compassionate heart and will give anything to anyone even if it was his last. Taj was a life of the party. His favorite color was red and he was known for his good sneaker game with a fitted hat to match.

His loyalty and commitment inspired all those around him.

Taj lovable spirit departed on April 21, 2026 at the age of 48 peacefully at home.

He was preceded in death hy maternal grandparents- Randall and Mamie Davis paternal grandparents - Ransom and Annette Highsmith-sister Jerri L Campbell.

Taj was a lovable father, brother, uncle and grandfather, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and cherished memories to his mother Judith Davis and father Jerry Highsmith, seven beautiful children Damonte Smith, Destiny Jones, Taja Davis, Kashmeir Davis, Tajaye Davis, Qiaun Davis, and Jeremiah Wright, one grandchild Peyton Nieves.

Three brother's Dannie Davis, Marion Antoine Wells & Kerron Highsmith. one sister Angel Hlodges McFarland (Russel) a special brother and sister Gadwin & Tashika Phillips Special Companion Shamika Baker god daughter Shi Mcira Phillips.

"In addition to his family, he is survived by loving bonus children,  a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends."

Funeral service will be 1pm Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618.  Calling hours will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
