Taza M. Teel

Taza Marie Teel, age 55, peacefully departed this life on May 30 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ.

Born on November 4, 1970 in Trenton, New Jersey, Taza spent the majority of her life in the Trenton community she loved dearly. She was educated through the Trenton Public School System and was known for her warm spirit, creativity, and unwavering love for her family.

Taza worked as a photographer for JCPenney Portraits and Expressly Portraits, where she captured cherished memories for countless families. She also found great fulfillment as a devoted stay-at-home mother and wife, dedicating herself to nurturing and supporting her loved ones. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Brian. She enjoyed football Sunday her favorite team was the Philadelphia Eagles. Along with enjoying her South Side family and festive weekend activities.

She was preceded in death by her mother, JoAnn Howard; her father, Vincent Washington; husband, Brian Charles Teel; her maternal grandmother, Edith Howard; her paternal grandparents, Leverna and Minnie Norman McRae; a brother, Saladin Washington; and a special cousin/sister, Darleshia Hawthorne.

Taza leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughter, Passion Howard: a son, Brian Charles Teel, Jr. (Ashley Reid); bonus daughter, Shayion Brooks; grandchildren, Jace Sanchez, Ariella Teel, and Brian Charles Teel III; siblings, Theresa, Tilaya, Tilisha, Brandi, and Talib Williams; a special niece, Shannon; a nephew Unique; two goddaughters, Erin Glover and Neveah Pack; one godson, Joaquin Ortiz: and a host of other relatives and friends. Though she may be gone from our sight, her love and memories will remain forever in our hearts.

Funeral service will be 12pm Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
