Thedore Johnson Obituary

Theodore Johnson Jr., born on October 22. 1930, in Trenton, New Jersey, to the late Theodore Johnson St. and AnnaMae Hayes-Johnson. He departed this life on November 26. 2024, at the age of 94, while at Clover Meadow Rehabilitation Center, after a lengthy illness. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Bertha Lee Johnson, with whom he shared 74 wonderful years of marriage.

Theodore's journey began with his education in the Trenton Public School System. after which he proudly served in the US Army. He later worked at Acme Hamilton before moving on to the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf, where he retired in 1980.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Johnson Sr. and AnnaMae Hayes-Johnson; his wife, Bertha; his son, Theodore Johnson Ill; his brothers, Carl O. Johnson and Gerald Jessie & Johnson; sisters-in-law. Patricia & Freida Johnson and Martha Branch; his sister and brother-in-law. Mary and; Joseph Tucker: brothers-in-law. Harvey and Roosevelt Branch; nephews, James E. Johnson and Carl James Johnson; and his son-in-law, Robert Wingo.

Theodore leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Anna Mae Dunn and Barbara Wingo; his sister, Lucille Johnson Perry; his sister-in-law, Linda Johnson Campbell: his daughter-in-law. Kimberly Johnson; grandchildren, Shawna Fladger (Jamal), Sharika Lindsey (Kinshasha). Robert A. Wingo, Theodore Johnson IV (Latasha). Tyree Johnson, and James Alex Page.

He is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Wing (Sug), JaydenFladger. Hakan Johnson, Legend Donaldson, Ryder Wingo, and Supreme; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. And a very special friend who was always there for him, Brisco Singleton.

In his early years. Theodore enjoyed working on cars with his father, which inspired his lifelong love for automobiles. Known for his impeccable sense of style and his collection of sporty hats, Theodore always had a kind word for others.

His contagious smile and smooth jokes made him the gem of the family.He took great pride in sharing stories of his family's history, cherishing their legacy and bonds, and giving everyone a unique nickname. His peach cobbler was a holiday favorite that everyone eagerly anticipated. Theodore also had a fondness for Western movies, cheesesteaks, Popeye's chicken.and hoagies.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in Peace Theodore. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of those you touched.

Funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Calvary Christian Fellowship Ministries, 611 Parkway Ave., Ewing, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
