Thelma Inez Tunstall Obituary

Thelma Inez Tunstall, age 85, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life marked by faith, kindness, devotion to family, and service to others.

Born on May 27, 1941 in Trenton, NJ, Thelma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. A faithful member of her church, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Thelma found strength and comfort in her faith throughout her life. Her quiet devotion and steadfast beliefs guided her through both life's joys and challenges.

Known for her strong character, Thelma was a woman who spoke her mind and held firm to her values. She could be stern when needed, but those who knew her best also knew her remarkable sense of humor and her generous heart.

A private person by nature, Thelma valued meaningful relationships over large social circles. She maintained a small group of close friends and treasured the deep bonds she shared with her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved, offering support, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Predeceased by her husband, Elmer Tunstall; mother, Thelma Cruise (Driver); father, David Mills; sister, Sarah Blackwell; brother David Mills; son, Timothy Tunstall; and step daughter, Cheryl Colson;

She is lovingly survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Brian Turner; her son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Terry Tunstall; her step-son and his wife, Eric and Riva Tunstall; her cherished grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Beverly Mills; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends who will miss her greatly.

While her absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, her family finds comfort in the legacy she leaves behind - a legacy of strength, loyalty, generosity and love. She taught by example, lived with dignity, and remained true to herself throughout her life.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family & friends, who will forever cherish the love, laughter, wisdom and unwavering support she shared with them.

May she rest in peace.
