Theresa McLean

Pastor Theresa Pauline McLean, known fondly to her loved ones as NuNu, Grandmom, Pastor, Auntie, and Mommy, was born on January 3, 1935, in Roberson County, North Carolina, to the late Armanda Buie and the late Daniel Austin, both of whom have since passed. She was called to her heavenly home on May 15, 2023, at the home.

Pastor McLean held a Bachelor of Science and a Master's Degree in Social Work and Mental Health. She spent 32 years as a Mental Health Crisis Counselor at Capital Health in Trenton, NJ, before retiring. In addition to her career, Pastor McLean was a licensed beautician and an entrepreneur who owned a beauty salon called “Terry Beauty Salon” and several stores in Trenton and Willingboro, NJ.

Pastor McLean was a Pastor of Murphy Chapel II in Trenton, NJ, under the umbrella of One Accord Worldwide Church of God inc. in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She had a passion for sewing clothes for her children, working in her garden, and thrift shopping. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she enjoyed taking care of them.

Pastor McLean was also involved with the Catholic Charity Food Pantry, where she provided food to the less fortunate.

In addition to her parents, Pastor McLean was predeceased by her husband, Edison McLean; and a sister, Minister Betty Jean King.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Julia Harrison of Fayetteville, NC, Edison Leon (Jacqueline) McLean, Vernon McLean, Sharon McLean, Richard McLean, and Reginald McLean, all of Trenton, NJ, Hedy Campbell of Florida, and Wendy (Mulik) Bateman of Beverly, NJ; 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; three nieces: Theresa Tibbs, Betty Saunders, and Wanda Fairley-Bagwell; two nephews, James (Ophelia) McLain and Roger McLain; as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11am Monday, May 22, 2023 at Calvary Christian Fellowship Ministries, 611 Parkway Ave., Ewing, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
