Thomasena L. Johnson, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy rooted in love, faith, and service. Born in
Mullins, South Carolina, Thomasena was raised in Ewing Township, New Jersey, where she planted deep roots and touched countless lives with her kind- ness and grace.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Mattie Johnson of Ewing Township, and the beloved sister of the late Thomas Johnson Jr. She was also prede- ceased by her nephew, Thomas Johnson Ill of Harlem, New York City.
Thomasena was a proud graduate of Ewing High School and the Donnelly School of Nursing. She devoted her professional life to caring for others through her work at Donnelly Hospital and Princeton Hospital, where she Wjls widely respected for her compassion and commitment.
Her faith was central to her life. She was a dedicated member ofThe Greater Mt. Zion AME Church, where she sang joyfully with the church's Traveling Singers and found purpose and fellowship within her church community.
Thomsena was known for her strong will and unwavering independence; qualities that shaped her life and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.Thomasena had a deep love for cooking and interior decorating, often creating warm, beautiful spaces and unforgettable meals for family and friends. She also gave selflessly of her time as a volunteer with Mercer County Meals on Wheels, always eager to help those in need.
Of all her many joys, none surpassed her love for her daughter, Hasana, her grand- daughter, Amirah, and her beloved pet Biscotti. They were the light of her life and the center of her world.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Hasana I. Campbell; her precious granddaughter, Ami rah ·campbell; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
A special thank you is extended to Douglas Campbell, Jr., whose generous support and care brought comfort and strength to his daughters during Thomasena's time of need.
Her legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who blessed to know her.
Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
