Tonya D. Billups

Tonya DeLorse Billups affectionately known as "Brew", age 61 of Trenton, New Jersey departed this life on Thursday, April 23rd at her home in Trenton, New Jersey as she desired. Tonya was born in Trenton, to Martha B. Leonard and the late Edward "Eddie" Wright.

Tonya lived life! She was a blessed woman with a testimony of just how great God was. Tonya had battled sickness for years and the doctors didn't understand her survival, but God did! Her destiny was written by God and not man, and she knew that! When medical professionals would count her out, she showed them time after time just who her God was.

Tonya was educated in the Trenton Public School system. She later began a career in the nursing and home health care field. It was there that Tonya gained her compassion for others and came to be that beautiful soul that everyone loved. She was very family-oriented and truly loved her family. Brew was not playing about her family, especially HER KIDS and grandkids!

Preceded in death by her grandparents Queen Victoria Leonard and Clyde Leonard. Her Father Edward "Eddie" Wright, her Dad Kenneth Washington her big sister Frances Billups and her nephew Breon Billups.

Tonya leaves to cherish her memories the following: Her Mother Martha B Washington, Her children Tonyika Billups and William McNeil Billups (Brion McNeil, son in-law). Her brothers and sisters Catherine Flood (Grover), Peggy Billups, Darryl Billups, Menneth Billups and baby sister Chanda Billups. The Father of her children Willinm Hicks. Her grandchildren: Anthony Davis, Dia'Shanique Clemons (Daniel), Markuaysia Baylor (Asia), Markeeyse Baylor, Lonnie Houston Ill, Tayon Billups, Taylor Billups, Senai Billups, Jazmyn Billups, Isiah Billups, Madyson Billups and Jah'kai Flemming. Her great grandchildren: Azariah Davis, Kylee Burgess, Ahbree Davis and Kaidence Clemons. Her nieces and nephews: Charlie Billups, Kenisha Billups, Shaltira Mallette, Johnieka Benekin (Rashawn), Grover Tygier Flood (Isheka), Sheena Flood, Johnathan Flood, JaQuan Billups and Terrence Ellerbe. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 1pm Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Church,111 Perry St., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 12pm until the time of service at the church. Interment will be private.
