Tonya Hodges

Tonya Elizabeth Hodges, affectionately known as “T.H.," was the 5th child born to the late John Wesley Hodges Sr. and Fannie Jean Hodges, on November 13, 1967, in Trenton, New Jersey. She departed her life on September 3, 2025, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. Tonya received her education within the Trenton Public School system and post-secondary education at the Mercer County Vocational School for Medical Assistants (MCCC Vo- Tech). She explored a plethora of work during her life, including her time at Providence Nursing Home, Mercer County Board of Elections, and working in Telecommunications. On July 2, 1991, she gave birth to her one and only son, Ta' Mir Hodges of Trenton, NJ. Throughout her life, Tonya was known to "love the kids," be a wiz with a sewing needle, go all out for the holidays, and be the life of any party, holiday, kickback, or family gathering. She was always someone you could count on for a great time and a great meal.

She often graced us with her cooking and baking, recipes passed down being brought to a delicious light.

Tonya would turn her life over to the Lord through Baptism on May 4, 2025, at Union Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ, where she was a member. She was thrilled to have gotten baptized, as she said, "I posed to been

in that water!"

She is predeceased by her parents (John Sr., Fannie) and eldest sister, Sandra Vera Hodges.

She is survived by one uncle, Roosevelt Coates, her siblings: John W. Hodges Jr., Tracey D.  Hodges, Michael J. Hodges Sr., Pamela R. Hodges, and Crystal G. Hodges, her children: Ta'Mir M. Hodges and Jasmine Hickmond, her godchildren: Shaneia McKay & J'Quan Atkins, and Fiance, Tyreek Council.

She is also survived by a large number of nieces and nephews: Cory Hodges Sr. (Cory Jr., Chloe), Kitonia Hodges (Gianni, Fa'Nae, Qadir), Shakia Billups- Hodges (Quameir, Zekiyah, Faith), Michael Hodges Jr. (Leilani, Malanie), Juwan Hodges (Nova), Ciara Hodges (Elisha, E'Moniee, Easton, Ayden, Nah'Zyah, A'Naviar), Rashanda Hodges (Jazir, Jayla, Rylie), Latasha Hodges, Ronte Hodges Sr.(Raven, Ronte Jr., Autumn), Courtnay Hodges, Jean Hodges, Raeshawn Hodges, Victoria Hodges, Lauren Hodges, and Catherine Hodges. Like the other abundant branches of family, Tonya had a multitude of cousins. Special Family & Family Friends: The Allen-Merritt-Hodges Family, Tina Purdue, The Funderburg Family, The Brown Family, Tracy Lewis, Tanica Atkins-Harden, Sincere, and  'Yatta'.

Funeral service will be 11am Friday, September 19, 2025 at Union Baptist Church, Pennington Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, Ewing, NJ
