Tymeca Patterson

Tymeca  Charmain Patterson departed her life on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the age of 51 years.  

A lifelong resident of Trenton, New  Jersey,  Tymeca received her education in the Trenton Public   School System, graduating from Trenton Central High School, Class of 1991, where she served on the cheerleading squad and Girls' basketball teams. Tymeca  spent time attending Centenary College and The College of New Jersey in pursuit of her secondary education. Ready to take on the world, Tymeca worked for the State of New Jersey, Division of Taxation as an accountant and data processor for over 25 years but also held contractor positions with the Superior Court, Judiciary Division.  

Growing up in the church at the behest of her grandparents, Tymeca was baptized at the El Bethel Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ and then went on to become a member of the Wayne Avenue Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ. At Wayne Avenue, Tymeca  was a member of the Jr. and Young Adult Choirs and served on the Youth Usher Board.  

To all that know her, Tymeca's proudest and greatest accomplishments were her children. As a single mother, Tymeca took pride in raising her children to be upstanding people of society. Always the cheerleader, she was there for every event and was a true testament of motherly support. Tymeca  had a passion for the slots and could be found at the nearest casino taking her chances on the one-armed bandit often times walking away with big wins! Tymeca also had an affectious love of cats...now to be reunited with Missy, Lightskin and Butterball who have all gone home to glory but will be truly missed by her loving cat... Simba!  

Known for her feisty wit and no-nonsense personality, Tymeca was a character to be reckoned with. To know her was to love her as the tough exterior was just the outer shell to her warm heart. Tymeca will forever be remembered as a loving and compassionate mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.  

Tymeca  was  predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Thomas Patterson, Mary Ann and Ralph Lynch, her paternal grandparents, Marion and Helen Glover, four aunts Violet Brown, Maria Patterson, Floretta Richardson and Rosalind Willard and four uncles, James Patterson, Marion "Buddy" Glover, Jr., Gregory Glover and Woodrow Willard.  

Tymeca. leaves to mourn her mother and father, Isabell Patterson and Don Glover, her children, Gequan Williams, Trevon Patterson, Tykwae Whittaker and Iseanaye Whittaker, her grandson,  Tykwae "TJ” Whittaker, Jr., her brothers, David Patterson, Dion Glover and Derrick Glover, all of Trenton, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

 Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
