Vanaudry Williams Obituary

Peacefully and quietly in the early afternoon of February 17th at 3:30 pm, Divine Wisdom, the Almighty, the All-Knowing loving God, gently closed the eyes of our devoted Mom, loving Grandmom, caring Sister, Aunt, and faithful Friend, Vanaudry Austell Williams.

Vanaudry Austell Williams, daughter of the late Thelma Bernice and David Austell, was born August 10th, 1942 in Trenton, New Jersey. She was educated in the public schools and graduated from Hightstown High School. She also attended Cadillac Beauty Academy.

She met and married the late George Willie James Williams in 1959. After the birth of a daughter the late Audrey Benay Williams and her surviving son G. Anthony Williams, the family settled on Edgewood Ave, and at the age of 78 in the comfort of her home she peacefully transitioned, surrounded by love.

By friends and family Vanaudry was known and loved as “Van”, someone who was never too busy to listen , advise or take action in any way she could to support all who came to her. Van loved and supported her children and grand-children, in all their endeavors, she especially enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings welcoming new and old friends to her table. Van loved to travel near and far by land, air, and sea. Van enjoyed many, many vacations with girlfriends, family members, and most frequently with her children.

“Van”, willingly gave of her time and attention in the home and at work compassionately caring for all those around her. Van retired from ARC Mercer after 20+ years of caring for people with special needs.

Those who knew her, will miss her, we will all miss her warm heart, and tender spirit, but most of all the unique sparkle of her voice when she laughed or joined in merry conversation.

Vanaudry was predeceased by Parents, Thelma Bernice (Cohen) & David Austell, Husband, George Willie James Williams, Daughter Audrey Benay Williams, and Sister Equilla Austell Sample.

Van leaves to mourn and forever cherish precious memories, a devoted son, G. Anthony Williams of Brooklyn NY, two grand-daughters, Nicole Damali Williams and Natasha Ayanna Williams at home in Trenton, NJ, a brother, Irvin (Mildred) Austell, Trenton, NJ., many nieces, nephews, cousins, a wealth of friends, and her friend who became her sisterin-law & closest confidant then ultimately a devoted sister Annie L. Graves, Danville VA.
