Vance L. Richardson

Vance L Richardson, a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away on July 17, 2025, at Capital Health Medical Center-Hopewell. Born on October 11, 1953, to Deloris Thomas Richardson Tindall and Rev, Otis Richardson, Vance was a longtime resident of Trenton, New Jersey, with brief stays in Atlantic City and Baltimore, Maryland.

A proud graduate of Trenton Central High School in 1971, Vance held various jobs throughout his life_ including security, Certified Nursing Assistant, factory worker, and telemarketer. More than his work, Vance cherished connecting with people. He had a witty personality and an undeniable love for engaging conversations, often filling the room with his infectious laughter. He especially treasured moments spent with his beloved son, Ian, and his wide circle of family and friends, always making them feel loved.

Vance was predeceased by his parents, Deloris Thomas Richardson Tindall and Otis Richardson; and his grandparents, Annie L. and George Thomas, and Odis (not a typo) Richardson Sr. and Lou Anna Curry-Richardson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Ian Richardson, and Ian's mother, Cynthia Rochelle Hugh; two sisters, Myani Richardson and Fatuma Richardson of Baltimore, Maryland; a nephew, Bakari Richardson of Baltimore, Maryland; his aunt and uncle, Hilda A. and Oscar Teel of San Diego, California; and first cousins: Vernal Vaughan, Petra A. Jackson, James W. Henderson, Wanda Henderson, Christopher M. Henderson, Margo L. Glover-Davis, and Sarah Glover. 

Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, July 25, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 12pm until the time of service. Interment will be private.
