Velinda L. Hearns

With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Velinda accepted her angel's invitation into the kingdom on Friday, November 10, 2023 in Trenton, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright, but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.

Velinda Lee Hearns was born on October 18, 1959 in Trenton, New Jersey to Francis "Doc" Sr. and Anna Mae Hearns. She was raised in Ewing Township.

Velinda was educated in the Ewing public school system. While attending Ewing High School she participated in track and field. She was employed at Ronson Aviation and Sanican Princeton, and she worked for various temporary agencies.

In her leisure time, Velinda enjoyed playing the flute. She also loved singing, playing spades, backgammon and bowling.

She was preceded in death by her father Francis Hearns Sr.; her brothers James and Stanley "Drop" Hearns.

Velinda's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her mother Anna Mae Hearns; her sisters Glendora, Anita Hearns and Stella Washington; her nieces Nicole (Jihnny), Odessa, Venita, Sharnasia and Raine; her nephews Kenya, James, Lindsay (Valerie), Milton, Rajon and Xander; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
