When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
Vida Ree Jones was born to the late Austin and Addie Lee Simon on May in Willow Springs, NC. Jones of Greensboro NC and was blessed with daughter Joyce. They later relocated to Trenton, NJ and was blessed with another daughter Angela.
After relocating to Trenton, Vida worked at Circle F for 2 years while completing her education. Vida worked in several departments at Helen Fuld, she was a nurse's aid, Patient Escort and Central Supply Tech. Vickie decided to retire after working for 35 years at Helen Fuld Medical Center.
Vida loved shopping and her favorite things to buy was clothes, perfumes, and shoes.
She would spend some of her retired days on the phone with HSN and QVC or at Macy's and Burlington Coat factory. This is also how she got to know some of the UPS and Postal workers for the many packages that would arrive at her door.
Although she had a love for shopping, this did not surpass the love she had for her family. Vida stressed that all she ever wanted for her family is to live a good life. She loved being around her family and was always available with a listening ear and good advice but did not sugar coat or pull any punches with her loved ones.
Vida was a member for over ten years at Faith Deliverance Cathedral. under the leadership of Dr. Everett Kelly. It was under this ministry where she learned about and gave her life to the Lord Jesus and where she also became known as Mother Jones. Mother Vida Jones was presently a member at Lord Jesus Love Temple under the leadership of Pastor Kilpatric Mitchell, where she continued her journey with the Lord until he called her home. She loved Sunday School, bible study and prayer, she was also a devotional leader and sang in the church choir. She was an encourager and prayer warrior who trusted and believed God could do anything but fail. Her most fervent prayer was that her family would receive Jesus in their lives, so that they can experience the goodness of the Lord as she did.
