Vincent Johnson "Pez"

We were graced with the presence of Vincent “Pez” Johnson on November 3, 1962, and saddened by his departure on September 4, 2025.

Vincent was born to Sarah Johnson and Herbert Kennedy in Vineland, NJ.

He was educated in the Vineland and Trenton Public School systems and worked many odd jobs, primarily in the warehouse industry.

Vincent enjoyed family cookouts, fishing, playing cards, cracking jokes, watching his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers, and simply being his original comedic self. One thing you could always count on when he was around was a good laugh!

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Johnson; father, Herbert Kennedy; stepfather, James McGhee; wife, Christine Johnson; sister, Gwendolyn Johnson; brother, Sylvester McGhee; favorite aunt, Mary Lee Brooks (TT); uncle, Isacc Johnson; nephew, Michael Johnson; and maternal grandparents, Mary J. Johnson and Isacc Johnson Sr.

Vincent’s memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his two children, Valerie Tia Riley (Eric) and Vincent Leon Green; four grandchildren, Tamara (with whom he shares the same birthday), Dakota, Dana, and Mason; sister, Carolyn McGhee (John) of Mt. Holly; brother, James McGhee (Lorraine) of Mt. Holly; aunts, Priscilla Johnson of Vineland, NJ, and Stella Johnson of Maryland; uncles, Walter Johnson, Wallace Johnson (Lucy) of Vineland, NJ, Calvin Knox, and Gary Adams of Bridgeton, NJ; favorite cousin, Willie “Peanut” Hargrove (Bessie) of Trenton, NJ; sister-in-law, Channen McGhee of Trenton, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
