Wesley J. Terry

WESLEY JEROME TERRY, known affectionately as Romeo, transitioned peacefully from labor to reward, on November 1, 2025. He was born on August 13, 1951, in Trenton, New Jersey. He was the third of ten children born to the late Christine Frazier and Charles E. Terry, Sr.

Wesley attended Trenton Central High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving his country with honor and integrity. After his military service, he retired from St. Francis Medical Hospital, where he served for many years as a Maintenance Engineer. After retirement, he became a caregiver to his father, Charles, his best friend and his mother Christine, who adored him. All the siblings were jealous of Jerome, because we all thought he was their favorite child. SMILE!

Known for his incredible sense of humor with the men of the family, Jerome was often the center of attention in any room. He loved to have fun, dance and make people laugh. Though his time here has past, he lived life fully—embracing each moment and reminding others that life is short and meant to be enjoyed. Wesley’s sweet spirit drew people towards him; they called him “ROMEO” remembering him as a gentle and kind man.

Wesley’s hobbies were diverse. He was passionate about landscaping, fishing with his dad and brothers, and playing pool. Everything about Jerome was good—fun in a way that drew people close. Jerome’s love for the Lord was evident to us all. He rejoined the church, ensuring his relationship with Jesus Christ remained strong and true. He came to learn that his Salvation was a free gift from God received through his grace and underserved mercy. Thus, the explanation brought peace to Jerome’s weary soul about the Transcendence and Immanence of a Holy God.

Wesley is predeceased by his parents Christine Fraizer and Charles Terry Sr., brothers, Charles Terry, Jr., David Terry, Richard “Mustafa” Terry, and baby sister Robin “Baby Girl” Terry-Adams.

Wesley Jerome was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories. He leaves his former wife Hazel Terry and four children: Tanya Jenkins of Browns Mills, NJ and Bryant, Kenya and Ashley Terry from NY and Sisters: Judy Carol Hayes (Douglas) Lawrenceville, NJ; C. Elaine Terry, Trenton, NJ; Claudette Galiber of Ewing, NJ; Clarette Terry of Fairburn, GA and Adam C. Adams “Baby Brother” (Juanita) of Harrisburg, PA. Jerome is also survived by eleven grandchildren, five great-grand-children, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends and neighbors at North 25 Housing Development.

Funeral service will be 10am Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
