William (Billy) Wilcox, Jr., passed away quietly on Wednesday, May 2, 2022 at his home.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey to the late William Wilcox, Sr. and Gladys Wilcox, he was a graduate of Trenton Central High School. After graduation, Billy attended a Vocational-Technical School until he developed lung trouble and was unable to continue his goal in that field. However, and undeterred, Billy secured a job as a Perfumist (perfume Maker) at Firmenich Chemical Company in Princeton, New Jersey and worked there for many years until, again, an accident on the job led to early disability retirement.
Billy considered himself "king of the house", since it was a house filled with all females, and because he was the only surviving son. He enjoyed all sports but his favorite sport was baseball and played for George's Bar. His favorite boxer was Muhammad Ali.
Billy is preceded to the grave by 1 brother, Fred W. Watkins, 1 sister, Veronica Agabaegbu and 1 niece, Lisa Renee Walker. He is survived by 3 sisters, Cynthia White and Amethia Flim, both of Florence, South Carolina; and Janie (Elder Clarence) Thompson of Trenton, New Jersey; 3 nieces: Hon. Tracy M. (Hon. Rodney) Thompson of Ewing, New Jersey, Dr. Chinyere (Buchi) Iweka of Los Altos, California, and Jailah Morrison of Trenton, New Jersey; 3 nephews: Victor White of Effingham, South Carolina, Jamale Green and Theodore Rambough of Trenton, New Jersey; 1 sister-in-law, Ann Watkins of Ewing, New Jersey and many cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 12pm Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
