Our Lord and Savior called His faithful servant, our beloved Wilomena, to rest on Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. As a result, our hearts are a little less bright, but we know that Heaven 1s filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter. Wilomena was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a supportive sister, proud grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, she lived a life marked by faith, humility, and purpose
Wilomena was born on August 18, 1943, in Bartow, GA. Daughter of the late Wilson Francis, Sr. & Alberta (Brinson) Francis, she attended Trenton Public Schools and worked for the office of G. Dallas Dixon, Esq. as an Assistant and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, where she retired. Wilomena was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey.
Wilomena was civically engaged in the greater Mercer County community and committed to efforts and initiatives that supported the advancement of children, families, and neighborhoods. She was the Founder and President of the Concerned Parents Organization, Democratic Committee Woman in District West 9, and worked on countless elections in the State of New Jersey over the years. She embodied care, concern, and commitment to the service of others. Always very friendly and helpful to emerging leaders in the City of Trenton as they embarked on their civic work, Former Mayor of the City of Trenton, Douglas H. Palmer recently said, "She was not only a good friend to me, but an inspiration! If she was on your side, it was an honor!"
In addition to her parents, Wilomena was predeceased by a son, Irving Green; a grandson, Bryan Roberts; two sisters, Laverne Francis and Charmayne Francis; four brothers, Wilson Francis, Jr., Roosevelt Francis, Sr., Robert Francis, Sr., and Sherman Francis; two nephews, Keith Lopez and Stephon Francis; and two goddaughters, Veronica Francis and Chery] Lynn Wilson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Isaac Green Sr., four daughters: Vera Ward (Ben), Lenora Ross (Marvin), Lorraine Roberts (Bryan), and Vicky Melton (Gary); three sons: Isaac Green, Jr., Robert Green (Stephanie), and Dexter Green; one sister, Ernestine Lopez; her grandchildren; Ivy, Ivin, Isaac III, lrin Sr., Isiah, Justin, Nyle, Shakarah, Taylor, Imeir, Jasmine, Gary-Paul, Dominique, Myeesa, London, Bo, Max, Keyth, Lashae, Shanique, Courtney, Anthony, Kara, Shawna, Fabian and Ailee; several beautiful great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; four godchildren: Marlene Eal, Brian Rambough, Sandra Barbara-Belton, and Raymond Ostronski; three sisters-in-law: Joyce Francis, Carlotta James, and Sarah Muse; and many nieces, including a namesake, Wilomena Mige Francis, nephews, cousins, special friends, Gwendolyn Leonard and Emma Jamison; next door neighbors for over 40 years, Gloria & Ray Thompson; and a multitude of other loved ones.
Funeral service will be 12pm Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Jr Way, Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 10am until time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
